Announcing My Re-Election Campaign

Fellow Democrats,

I’m excited to announce the launch of my campaign for re-election as your Summit County Treasurer and am writing to ask for your support in the upcoming  June 28th Democratic primary.

When I was elected to office in 2018, I committed to improving key areas of the Treasurer’s office, including how we interact with our customers and how we manage County funds to ensure the best return on taxpayer money.

I wanted to share a few highlights from my first three years:

  • I divested County funds from fossil fuels. I created an investment strategy that ensures taxpayer dollars are only invested in corporations committed to good stewardship in Environmental, Social, and Governance. I continue to advise other counties and municipalities on these strategies.
  • We quadrupled our investment portfolio from $20 million to $80 million through a strategic cash flow analysis in collaboration with the County Commissioners in an effort to improve the performance and safety of taxpayer funds
  • We increased our interest rate by 226%, meaning my sound investment strategies resulted in more revenues available to the programs these funds support, including more money for Open Space, Childcare, and Public Safety.
  • We partnered with Building Hope to support their work on mental health advocacy by providing a direct line of communication with property owners

I’ve lived in Summit County more than half of my life. As a Democrat, I’ve been an active and visible member of the Party, including serving as the Party’s treasurer for more than four years.

While the Treasurer may not be the most visible elected office in the County, it is responsible for collecting and distributing over $146 million in taxpayer revenues, as well as investing over $100 million in taxpayer funds. My education, including an MBA emphasizing finance, and nearly a decade in financial roles within Summit County, is so important to the continuing success of the Treasurer’s office. Put simply: financial experience matters, and I’m the only candidate with it.

I’ve lived in Summit County more than half of my life. As a Democrat, I’ve been an active and visible member of the Party, including serving as the Party’s treasurer for more than four years. Outside of work, I’m committed to our community and stay involved. As a former professional golfer, I’m honored to serve as the Head Coach for the Summit Tigers High School Golf Team, leading the team to their first statewide competition in over a decade.

To build on our success in the Treasurer’s office, I hope to earn your support in the Democratic Primary on June 28th. Independents can vote on the Democratic ballot as well. I welcome you to learn more about me or reach me directly below.

Thank you for your time today.
